We made it through opening night and it went really well. Last night was the second show and Chuck and Oranee flew into town to see it. It rained, ok, it poured all afternoon and we were worried about Saturday night's show and the weather. It was a swamp around our motorhome and the motorhome next to us had nothing but water underneath them. By dinnertime the sun was out and it was nice. Almost halfway through the show it started pouring again and this time there was thunder and lightening. Everyone in the cast ran to the study shelter for cover and they announced there would be a 10 minute delay. After 10 minutes they announced because of the lightening they needed to cancel the show at that point for safety reasons. Apparantly this is rare. A lot of times the show is delayed for rain but I didn't talk to anyone who had ever heard of it being cancelled. Kind of sad but luckily for us, Chuck and Oranee will be here for Tuesday night's show also so they will actually get to see it.
Here we are at Niagra Falls. Everyone is still dry.
We went to the Cave of the winds at the falls and they gave us nifty yellow ponchos and these cool shoes. I am guessing at this point that we may be getting wet.
Caroline and Katie are on this walkway that was getting pounded by the waterfall. I don't have pictures of the next stop on the walkway because it was so wet I couldn't take the camera out. David said it was like getting a massage, it was pounding their backs so hard. Katie, Caroline, and David looked like they had jumped into a pool after that. They were soaked, head to toe, and then froze the whole rest of the day.
We went across the border and had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Nelson was thinking they had locked us out of the country when we tried to return. Luckily, we got back.
Here we are at the horseshoe falls on the maid of the mist boat. We got on first and so we got the front row. It wasn't as wet as the cave of the winds but very misty. It was so amazing!
