Prom thievery and fun

Monday night we came home from Caroline's piano recital to find that Katie had been asked to Junior Prom. There were a bunch of peanut butter dove candies(Katie's favorite is anything peanut butter and chocolate) and a note (to be read with our best Irish accent) asking Katie to prom from the only Leprechaun she knows. There is a boy that we lovingly call the Leprechaun so we guessed who it was from. The next day at school, they were talking and the subject of the asking came up. Come to find out, Andy (the Leprechaun) left a bucket full of candy with balloons the colors of the rainbow on it on our porch not more than a half hour before we arrived home. Sabotage! Swiper no swiping! I guess somebody upon passing our house decided they wanted what was on our porch. It must have been an older scallywag, ne'er-do-well because they realized they couldn't spoil the whole thing so they at least left the asking note along with about half the candy. We recovered from the news but it is a little disturbing to think someone actually stole something off our porch. So here's a picture of Katie's answer... a Lucky Charms cereal box with a note (to be read in an Irish accent, of course) "I'd consider myself LUCKY to go to prom with such a CHARMing Leprechaun!"
